Amsterdam, the Netherlands’ capital, is famed for its historic canals, vibrant culture, and renowned museums like the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. The Anne Frank House adds historical depth to the city’s attractions. As a tech hub, dubbed the “Silicon Canals” of Europe, Amsterdam hosts leading companies like Booking.com, TomTom, and Adyen, alongside the regional offices of Google, Netflix, and Uber. Known for its cycling culture, efficient public transport, and progressive policies, Amsterdam is eco-friendly and accessible, embodying an open-minded spirit.
Schiphol Airport (AMS): Amsterdam’s main international airport is well-equipped for travelers with mobility issues. Most airlines and services at Schiphol provide options for passengers requiring extra assistance. It is recommended to notify your airline of any special needs ahead of time (usually 48 hours in advance).
The distance from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) to Amsterdam City Center (specifically Amsterdam Central Station) is approximately 15 kilometers (9 miles).
Public transport: Trams, buses, and metro stations in the city center are mostly accessible, though some older stations or vehicles may not be. Low-floor buses and trams are the most accessible.
Bike-Friendly: cycling is a primary mode of transportation for locals. Over 40% of all trips in the city are made by bike. Whether commuting to work, running errands, or just enjoying the scenic canals, biking is part of the city’s everyday rhythm.
Details will be released at the conference
